Mexican Tortilla Bake

Brown 1 pound ground beef, 1 onion and 1 clove garlic.
Add 2 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. water
1 t. chili powder
1/4 t. salt

Simmer 20 minutes. Spoon 1/4 mixture in 9x13 pan. Spread 9 corn tortillas with sour cream(1/2 pint). Arrange 3 tortillas on meat mixture in pan. Sprinkle with about 1/2 c. cheese. Then layer more meat, tortillas and cheese 2 more times. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

  1. The tortillas were a little soggy. My husband loved it because he likes corn tortillas. The kids and I prefer flour. So I may try this again with flour and see how it is. Better to have one person not like the torillas than four, right?
